Prayer focus (May 2012)

RECOMMENDATIONS:
(1) Spend at least five minutes every day to pray about the second coming of Jesus
(2) Please make this your priority prayer (i.e. the first request you will make to God in your daily prayer)

Appreciation

Father, thank you for the promise of the second coming of Jesus. By your mercy, please let your kingdom come quickly - that your will may be done on earth as it is in heaven.

And the glory of the Lord shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together, for the mouth of the Lord has spoken. (Isaiah 40:5)

Prayer for the church

O Lord, please keep the Church alert and watchful for your second coming, in the name of Jesus.

It is like a man going on a journey, when he leaves home and puts his servants in charge, each with his work, and commands the doorkeeper to stay awake. (Mark 13:34)

Prayer for the world

O Lord, by your mercy, please deliver non-believers from every bondage that is preventing them from coming to Jesus as their Saviour.

He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son.... (Colossians 1:13)

Prayer for yourself

O Lord, please equip me and use me to proclaim the good news of your second coming.

But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth. (Acts 1:8)
