How will it happen?
There are several Bible passages in both the Old and the New Testaments that tell us how Jesus would return. However, different interpretations have been given to these passages. The good news is that there is total agreement on the most important elements of the second coming.
These include:
His coming will be sudden and unexpected
He will return physically, and visibly to the earth
He is coming to execute the fierce judgment of God on the world
All those that accept God's salvation in Christ Jesus would live with God forever
All those that reject God's salvation in Christ Jesus would be punished eternally
In essence, the 'how' of His coming is no doubt important, but the more important issue is to focus on the consequences of the return of Jesus Christ. "Therefore, you also be ready..." is the advice that Jesus gave in Luke 12:40.
You can get ready by accepting God's free gift of salvation: repent from your sins, turn to God for forgiveness through His Son Jesus Christ and make Jesus the Lord of your life.

Acts 1:10-11
And while they were gazing into heaven as he went, behold, two men stood by them in white robes, and said, "Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into heaven? This Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will come in the same way as you saw him go into heaven."
Matthew 25:31
When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, then he will sit on his glorious throne.
1 Thessalonians 4:16
For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the sound of the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first.
1 Thessalonians 4:17
Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord.
Matthew 16:27
For the Son of Man is going to come with his angels in the glory of his Father, and then he will repay each person according to what he has done.
